IBOB Player for Google TV and Chromecast with Google TV

Google TV is the interface found on Chromecast with Google TV and on many newer smart TVs. Underneath it is Android TV, which is why IBOB Player installs on it as an app. IBOB Player plays your own M3U or Xtream playlist; it does not include channels or content.

Only add playlists you are legally entitled to use. IBOB Player does not provide or recommend any content source.

Step 1: Install the Downloader app

1. On the Google TV home screen, open Search and look for Downloader.
2. Install it and open it once.

Step 2: Allow Downloader to install apps

1. Open Settings, then Apps, then Security & restrictions (the wording varies slightly by version).
2. Choose Install unknown apps and switch it on for Downloader.

Step 3: Install IBOB Player

1. Open Downloader and enter the code 2993432 in the URL box.
2. Wait for the APK to download, then choose Install and Open.
3. Alternatively use the direct download link in the Download section of the home page.

Step 4: Add your playlist and activate

Sign in to the portal and add your M3U link or Xtream login details; the playlist syncs to your linked devices (up to five playlists). Not sure which format you have? See M3U and Xtream playlists explained.

The app starts a 30-day free trial. Afterwards a plan activates the device using the device key (splash screen) and the MAC address (Settings, About device, in the app). See how activation works.

Tips for Chromecast with Google TV

• A Wi-Fi 5 GHz connection or an Ethernet adapter helps if playback stutters; see the buffering troubleshooting guide.
