Using M3U and Xtream playlists with IBOB Player
By the IBOB Player team · Published · Updated
IBOB Player is a player: it needs a playlist from your own provider before it can show anything. It supports the two most common formats, M3U and Xtream-style logins.
IBOB Player does not provide channels, playlists or subscriptions, and this site does not link to any. Use only content you have the right to watch.
M3U playlist
An M3U (or M3U8) playlist is a text file or web link listing streams and their names. If your provider gave you a URL ending in something like .m3u or .m3u8, or a file with that extension, that is an M3U playlist. You paste the link (or upload the file) into your account.
Xtream-style login
Some providers give you three values instead of a link: a server URL, a username and a password. That is an Xtream-style login. Enter those three values exactly as supplied; the player builds the playlist from them.
How to add a playlist
- Install IBOB Player on your device: Android TV or Fire TV Stick.
- Sign in to the portal.
- Choose the playlists section and add your M3U link or Xtream details. Give it a name you will recognise.
- Open the app on your TV; the playlist syncs to devices linked to your account.
You can store up to five playlists and switch between them, which is handy if you have a household with different providers. Parental controls let you lock content by rating or category.
If the playlist does not load
- Copy the link or login again with no extra spaces.
- Check with your provider that the link or account is active.
- Make sure the device is online and the app is up to date.
- Still stuck? Contact support.
